It seems that in the last few days, the entire world has kind of tapped into the same wave-length. The near future feels uncertain (hard to know just *how* uncertain) for everyone, so we’re doing our best to be smart, stay positive, and pretty much clean everything all the time down here in Argentina. It can be tough to keep a cool head in these times, but if we all come together globally, we can beat this! . With borders closing in South America, we plan to hunker down at the beach and see what unfolds in the coming weeks! We are really disappointed that some of the amazing things we were planning to do in Patagonia won’t be happening in the near future, but we are incredibly grateful for our health and want to do our part to keep the people around us as safe as possible by staying put. . Stay healthy and stay at home everyone! We are thinking of all of you, especially those of you in our home of the United States as every single person is being asked to do their part in preventing the spread of this disease by staying home and in many cases not being able to make money. We can all get through this together! 💛

Are you trying to pick out solar panels? Have you already taken the plunge?⁣⠀ ⁣⠀ On beautiful, sunny days like this, I kick myself that we haven't installed solar panels yet. Sure, we've been busy extending the cabover, installing a roof hatch, and fundamentally reworking structurally critical portions of a near 50 year old truck camper. Yet, right now, the only power we have is what we tote in standalone battery packs. Don't get me wrong, they will always be useful. But I can't wait for the day where recharging my computer doesn't require running the truck engine and finessing the cigarette lighter inverter that is our current method of charging anything with an AC plug.⁣⠀ ⁣⠀ Yet, making that decision is so hard. I'm sure a lot of you either have confronted or are confronting the question of how to power their camper, whatever form it is: ⁣⠀ ⁣⠀ – Flexible vs. solid panels⁣⠀ – Price vs. efficiency⁣⠀ – Static vs. adjustable mount⁣⠀ ⁣⠀ So many variables to juggle. And so we just sit on the question in a perpetual cycle of analysis paralysis.⁣⠀ ⁣⠀ Where are you? Do you have solar panels? Do you love them? Are you shopping? Is there some compelling feature that is driving you in a particular direction?⁣

. . . #visitmexico #nuevoleon #coupletravels #vanlifeexplorers #vanlife #volkswagen #combi #vanlifevirals #vanlifemagazine #lahuasteca #coupletravellers #loves_nuevoleon #monterrey

You’re looking at IJEN CRATER, one of the most unique places we’ve ever visited for many reasons… . 1) That lake you see is more acidic than battery acid ⚡️(Yikes, right?!) Once you get close to it, you must wear a gas mask because of the sulfuric gasses 😷 Lemme tell ya, sulfur clouds are no joke. I’ve never experienced anything like it. — 2) This is one of only 2 places in the world where you can see a BLUE FLAME 💙🔥 [swipe to see what we mean!] — 3) At the base of the lake is one of the most concentrated sulfur deposits in the world, and it is a working sulfur mine. It’s known as the most dangerous sulfur mining operation in the world, and the men who work here put their lives at risk to earn $10-$15 USD per day. (You may have seen it covered in “Human Planet”) . If you have an adventurous spirit, this place will blow you away. Yet another amazing place in Java to save in your brain (or hit “save” in Instagram to remind you!) for future travel ideas. . What’s an adventure you’d recommend to us for future [when it’s safe!] travels?

Can't get enough of the national parks? You're in luck: this week, we're showcasing parks-themed artwork by Angie of @bobodesignstudio. Her pandemic-inspired "Wish You Weren't Here" travel series has delighted us, so we asked her to paint some of our favorite parks. (As a bonus: we'll be giving away each piece pictured here for the next 5 days. Don't miss it!) ⠀ ⠀ Here's what Angie has to say about what inspired her to create the series:⠀ "I love drawing different destinations when I am traveling. I love sitting in the dirt and sketching out what's in front of me. When I started thinking about all the places I missed going to visit, and all the places that I couldn't go to see because of the shelter in place, I didn't want that to stop me from creating. So instead of being there and wishing my friends were there with me, I decided to find the humor in wishing people weren't there to help do their part to flatten the curve."⠀ ⠀ ⠀ #ArtEverywhere #WomenWhoTravel #USAtravel #WildernessQuest #AdventureEnthusiasts #ArtistsOnInsta #TravelArt #WatercolorLandscape #PublicLands #BanffCanada #NationalParksUSA #TravelAtHome #WishYouWerentHere #BoboDesignStudio #TravelArtist
