2020 and Beyond

Although it’s clear that Sarah Cooper’s career started long before she became a viral sensation, this rise in popularity has led to many opportunities and successes in the past few months.

In October, her comedy special, Everything’s Fine, released on Netflix – which is an amazing accomplishment for any comedian. With this, she joins the ranks of other famous comedians with Netflix comedy specials, including John Mulaney, Dave Chapelle, Jenny Slate, Aziz Ansari, and more. The special features discussions of politics, race, and other pressing issues in our country. There is also a lengthy list of noteworthy celebrity guests, including Jane Lynch, Jonathan Van Ness, Winona Ryder, and Megan Thee Stallion.

In the wake of her social media virality and Everything’s Fine’s release, Sarah Cooper has gained national recognition as a talented comedian and social media star. She was named “Digital Creator of the Year” by Adweek in addition to being featured in Variety’s “10 Comics To Watch” for 2020. She has also received a few other nominations for awards whose winners will be announced later this year. And, if the trend continues, there are sure to be more to come

In the past few months, she has appeared on multiple talk shows, including The Ellen Degeneres Show, The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon, The Late Show With Stephen Colbert, and more. This August, she also hosted Jimmy Kimmel Live! with guests Ben Stiller and Holly Humberstone. She even landed a spot speaking at the Democratic National Convention – proving how influential her social media presence has been in the past year.

So, what’s next for Sarah Cooper? She recently spoke to The New York Times about her newfound fame, saying she doesn’t want her success to be linked to Donald Trump. But, she is not a one-hit wonder. With her comedy special, booming social media platforms, and successful book releases, Sarah Cooper has America talking. If the rest of her career goes anything like these past few months, we will definitely be seeing a lot more of her.
