How Much Do TikTok Influencers Make From Partnerships Explained

By Editorial Staff

The world of influencer marketing has skyrocketed over the last few years. With this new sector of business, comes new marketing techniques, which in turn asks the question about the industry standard. This term is big in the business world and determines the unstated pay of a specific role. For example, in the financial world, industry standards would be a lot less than the standard in the medical field; with each industry differing. It may be confusing to somehow much to pay influencers, how much they are worth, and how this number is set. So what goes into influencer payments, and how much do TikTok influencers make?

What Is Influencer Marketing?

To give an idea of how explosive influencer marketing has become, it is imperative to give context to what an influencer is, as well as explaining the numerous different types of influencers.

An influencer is a person on social media (YouTube, Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, TikTok) that has a devoted following in a certain category. Some influencers can base their content on old cars, mid-century history, or something as broad as a lifestyle blogger, travel enthusiast, or food critic. The list could go on forever.

This is where influencer marketing comes into play. Since influencers have such a loyal following on social media, marketing agencies have taken up this opportunity to transform these influencers into campaign ads. They reach out to these influencers to post all about their product in exchange for some type of commission: cash, product, or commission per sale. How much do TikTok influencers make is based on numerous factors found later in this article.

Influencer marketing is everywhere. Odds are, you have seen people you follow on social media promoting brands with their unique discount code. This is just one type of influencer marketing, and the more you look, the more you realize it is everywhere around you.

How Much Do TikTok Influencers Make?

With TikTok’s new Creator Fund well underway, influencers now have another source of income when it comes to making money on TikTok. The TikTok creator fund is only accessible to those that meet the following criteria:

  • Are based in the US, UK, France, Germany, Spain or Italy.
  • Are at least 18 years old
  • Have at least 10,000 followers
  • Have at least 10,000 video views in the last 30 days
  • Have an account that fits with TikTok Community Guidelines and the terms of service

Although this new feature is great for most influencers, many other influencers get compensation from brands. Brands use services like NeoReach, to create a roster of influencers who would be a good representation of the product they are trying to promote. From there, brands reach out to these influencers where they negotiate price, number of posts, and a posting schedule that they must adhere to. For freelance influencers looking to streamline their invoicing process, tools like Vantazo can help create professional invoice templates that make managing payments easier.

So just how much do TikTok influencers make? There are numerous factors that all play into the amount an influencer is paid to promote a product.

1. Number of followers

The number of followers plays a big role into the amount an influencer gets paid. With a following comes more views, something that brands really want. The more followers, the bigger the reach. Reach is the number of people that will see posts, content, etc., and brands want as much as they can get.

2. Presence On TikTok

When brands pick influencers and price points for future campaign deals, an influencer’s presence can play a role in how much an influencer gets paid. Typically, bigger name mega influencers such as Bryce Hall, Addison Rae, Charli D’Amelio, and others will get paid more than nano or micro-influencers. Numerous “content houses” in Los Angeles are known to get big brand endorsements because of their ability to produce quality content, in a timely manner, with many other mega influencers.

3. Engagement Rate

Another big factor that plays into how much an influencer might get paid is the engagement rate that they get on their content. Engagement is the percentage of followers that either like or comment on their content. The higher the engagement rate, the more an influencer can bargain with a brand to get more money.
