We are back with a few artists you’ve likely heard on the radio stations, seen on the top billboards, and of course, watched on YouTube. In this blog, I will outline the top 10 musicians on YouTube. From pop hits that’ll make you groove, to love songs that’ll put you in your feels, these musicians contain the variety and content we’ve all been yearning for. Let’s take a look at the top 10 famous musicians on YouTube, you may find a new artist to follow on Spotify.

1. Ed Sheeran

39.8m subscribers

39.8 million subscribers later, Ed Sheeran rightfully has earned spot number one on our list of famous musicians. Ed Sheeran is the ninth most subscribed to YouTube channel, where you can find his most viewed music video with 4.8 billion views “Shape of  You.” Best known for his love songs, Ed Sheeran’s song “Perfect” has been heard at almost every wedding since its release. Among his many albums, Divide has proven to be the most successful, as it was named the best-selling worldwide album in 2017. The unique thing about Ed’s channel is that in addition to his music he also uses his YouTube channel to promote charities.

2. Eminem

37.9m subscribers

With 37.9 million subscribers, Eminem takes the cake as one of the most subscribed artists on YouTube. Are you surprised? If so, let’s recall Eminem’s 2010 album Recovery that took the internet by storm. From his hit songs “Not Afraid” and “Love the Way You Lie,” Eminem still today is breaking records on YouTube.

3. Justin Bieber

45.4m subscribers

No one should be surprised that J-Biebs has landed spot number three on our list. With over 45.4 million subscribers, Justin Bieber uses YouTube to share his latest music videos and hit singles. On this very channel, Justin covered “With You” by Chris Brown a decade ago and was discovered by his agent Scooter. If you do enough digging, you may be lucky enough to recover one of his old music videos, featuring his signature long hair and high pitch voice.

36.5m subscribers

Ariana Grande has blown up, as has her YouTube Channel. Her highly subscribed to channel features her many hit songs and music videos. According to Forbes, her song “Thank U, Next” broke the record for the most streams in one week for a song led by a woman in the USA. In addition, “Thank U, Next” was the most played song on Vevo AND YouTube in 24 hours…EVER!

5. Taylor Swift

34.5 million subscribers

America’s sweetheart, Taylor Swift, has over 34.5 million subscribers on YouTube– but who’s surprised? Taylor has been producing record-breaking music for years now, and she remains unstoppable. In 2009, her album Fearless became the most awarded album in the history of country music, winning Album of the Year at the 52nd Grammy Awards. Taylor Swift is the first artist since the Beatles to have four consecutive albums log 6 or more weeks at number one on Billboard’s Top 200 Chart. In more recent years, her hit song “Blank Space” became the first song by a female artist to break 1 billion views on Vevo.

6. Katy Perry

34m subscribers

Katy Perry is an American singer, songwriter, and American Idol judge. She rose to fame in 2008 with her hit album, “One of the Boys.” She once held the record for receiving the most YouTube views in 24 hours with her song “Bon Appetite.” She then surpassed her own record with her song “Roar,” achieving the most channel views within one calendar day! Katy Perry will now and forever be an icon on YouTube.

7. Rihanna

32.2m subscribers

Winning MTV’s Video Music Award for Video of the Year, Rihanna’s hit song “Umbrella” is a tune everyone knows. Some more popular songs and music videos of hers include “Diamonds,” “Work,” and “We Found Love.” Rihanna recently launched a beauty brand called Fenty that has taken both the world and YouTube by storm. Recently, Rihanna has released videos about her new brand!

8. One Direction

29.4m subscribers

One Direction still remains one of the most subscribed to channel on YouTube, despite the recent split. Seven years ago, “1D” won over the hearts of every teenage girl who crossed their path. Their song “What Makes You Beautiful” still remains their most viewed song on YouTube with over 1 billion views. If you are looking to relive your boy band glory days, One Direction’s YouTube channel will not disappoint.

9. Maroon 5

26.3m subscribers

Maroon 5 has 26.3 million subscribers on YouTube and over 2.9 billion views on their hit “Sugar.” The music video sugar went viral after Adam Levine and his band surprised brides and grooms across America on their wedding days to perform the hit song “Sugar.” However, “Sugar” is one of many popular Maroon 5 songs, some other classic hits include “She Will Be Loved,” “Moves Like Jagger,” and “Girls Like You.”

10. Shakira

25.6m subscribers

Shakira is a popular Colombian singer, songwriter, and dancer. She has released 11 studio albums to date, and was chosen in 2010 to record the official world cup song “Waka Waka.” Her top three music videos on YouTube have over a billion views each and are as follows: “Chantaje” has over 2.3 billion views, “Waka Waka” has over 2.2 billion views, and “La La La” has over 1 billion views.
