Dominique Little is an 18-year-old actress, business-owner, and content creator based in New York City. She has gained over one million followers on her TikTok page, @nojill, and is continuing to rise as a social media star. The Start of NoJill
When Dominique started her Instagram page, she wanted to incorporate her favorite video game, Resident Evil, into her username. So, she decided to take inspiration from her favorite character in the game: Jill Valentine. At first, she wanted to do YesJill. But, since that one was taken, she decided to use NoJill as her username. (She also has a jewelry brand! It’s called Jill Jewels and features gorgeous chain necklaces and anklets).

The name Jill stuck with her and, although it’s not her real name, it became part of her social media persona and is a sort of nickname for her. Since then, she has started a TikTok account and has made quite an impact on the platform. As we mentioned earlier, she has one million followers and counting. She posts comedy and lifestyle videos, with many centered around her main passion: acting.

A Focus on Acting
Even before Dominique started using social media, she always dreamed of becoming an actress. Now, she has been acting for the last three years and is currently taking acting classes online – all while keeping her social media updated and growing as an influencer. And social media also helps her further her acting career: “It helps me invest in lighting, cameras, scenery, etc. And for acting, I am able to pay my tuition for my classes, headshots, etc. It’s a blessing to be able to reinvest in something you love.”
One thing that is very impressive about her is how she balances everything. She has learned to harness her platform to support her acting career while also knowing when to take a step back. “Once I saw myself struggling in acting yet succeeding at TikTok, I cried to my followers on a live stream and told them, ‘I need a break, I want to act, why am I not getting anywhere?’ I was so jealous watching young actors like me be so amazing at their craft and I was just sitting there doing nothing. From that day on, I took about a 1 to 2 week break from social media and started my acting career. During that time, I got my first two acting coaches, started auditioning, and got my headshots.”
Her drive is certainly admirable. It’s refreshing to see someone working to make their dreams come true. Dominique’s typical day includes studying acting, creating content for social media, negotiating brand deals, and planning content. In her free time, she loves to watch movies and study other actors. Some of her favorite actresses are Anne Hathaway, Angelina Jolie, and Michelle Rodriguez. It’s clear that acting really is her passion, and we can’t wait to see the places she will go.

Dominique: That my real name is Dominique Little, and they will see me at the Oscars one day.
